Charges

All visits are charged at our standard rates, unless a fixed price for the work has been agreed.

For Domestic Heating, Plumbing and Gas we charge £90 + VAT an hour

For Commercial Appliances or Systems our rate is £120 + VAT an hour.

While we are happy to look at photos to give you an indication of how long a job will take, and how much it will cost; we do not offer free estimate visits except for some larger works such as boiler and cylinder upgrades.

ALL visits that require some sort of investigation are chargeable.

After the first hour we calculate rates by the minute and do NOT round up to the nearest hour or half hour like other firms. For example if a visit takes 1 hour and 10 minutes you only pay for the 1hr and 10mins we spent on the job - if less than an hour on site, we still have a set fee of 1 hour to factor in getting to you, i.e. travel time, petrol e.t.c

Most of the time with domestic boiler and hot water repairs we will be able to diagnose the cause of the fault within an hour, so usually covered by the minimum fee, and from there we can give you options and costs for the actual repair itself if it is not something we can fix there and then. Please note that with trickier issues, if the visit takes a little longer, then it will cost a little more.

With commercial systems /appliances, these are often more complex and can take longer for us to assess, diagnose and repair.

Obviously, we are unable to offer any guarantees against other problems arising with the system in the future, should you like some sort of one cost cover all solution you may wish to investigate a British Gas service contract?

If after our initial investigation we need to order a part, or the problem is not a quick fix, then we will discuss options and let you know the associated additional costs.

If access is difficult, for example cupboards need to be removed, if we are unable to easily turn of water supplies, or other components fail due to wear and tear or old age during the course of our work etc, this will obviously add to our time and therefore the cost.

We are unable to accept any responsibility for further works or damage due to concealed fittings that may loosen during any works. The ONLY fittings that are allowed to be inaccessible are soldered fittings.

Should you like us to visit to run through options or problems then these consultation visits are also chargeable at our standard rates.
